MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The European Union is heavily influenced by the United States, and Moscow would like to see the bloc make decisions on its own, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We are very interested in the European Union being strong and independent. It is, of course, a separate subject of the international life, but the EU foreign policy is under a heavy pressure from the United States. We would like to see the European Union unified and making its own decisions, taking into account the interests of its member states," Lavrov told the Russian REN-TV channel.
