MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The plane carrying Kaczynski, his wife and a number of high-ranking officials crashed in heavy fog as it attempted to land at an airfield near the Russian city of Smolensk on April 10, 2010, killing all 96 passengers and crew on board.
"All of us, including on public level, had an opportunity to get acquainted with the circumstances of this terrible tragedy. On the public level, there is a lot of the information with reference to our officials, to the persons who conducted the investigation, who worked on the circumstances of the crash. Based on all this, of course, such claims can be called unfounded, biased and having nothing to do with the real circumstances of this tragedy," Peskov said, commenting on the Macierewicz' statement.
