MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders accused Donald Trump of "pathological" lying for pointing the finger at his supporters who Trump said had disrupted his presidential campaign rallies.
"I hesitate to say this because I really don't like to disparage public officials, but Donald Trump is a pathological liar," Sanders said during a televised event hosted by CNN on Sunday night.
Most recently, a man rushed the stage at a campaign event in Ohio on Saturday, which prompted Secret Service personnel to briefly take the businessman in a ring. The assailant was later identified as a Sanders supporter.
"Our campaign does not believe and never will encourage anybody to disrupt anything," Sanders argued at the town hall event, as quoted by CNN.
He said millions of people had been voting for him, which did not mean he should take responsibility for each one of them.
Sanders was speaking at the Democratic town hall at Ohio State University in Columbus ahead of Tuesday’s primaries.
