MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On February 22, Russia and the United States reached an agreement on the ceasefire in Syria, which entered into force five days later. The truce does not apply to terrorist groups operating in the country.
"There are ongoing negotiations on Syria, there is a truce. But the most important thing here is that now we see the consensus between the two powers [the United States and Russia]," Ali said.
Ali added that all states were interested in settling the long-standing conflict in the region, especially the European Union, which has been dealing with internal issues due to the Syrian crisis and the massive refugee influx into the bloc.
"Everyone is interested in putting an end to this tragedy."
