DUBAI (Sputnik) — A UAE fighter jet on a mission in Yemen crashed on Monday killing two pilots, the Saudi-led coalition said in a statement, as quoted by the Saudi SPA news agency.
Earlier in the day, Abu Dhabi said the plane, which was taking part in the Saudi-led coalition’s airstrikes in Yemen, went missing.
According to the statement, the jet crashed due to a technical failure.
Since March 2015, the United Arab Emirates, as part of the Saudi-led coalition, has been carrying out airstrikes against Houthi positions in Yemen at President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi's request.
