MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Moscow is not attempting to apply pressure on Syrian President Bashar Assad by withdrawing its Aerospace Forces from the country, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday.
“No, it isn’t,” Peskov told journalists in response to a question of whether Russia’s steps in withdrawing military aircraft was a signal of dissatisfaction with Damascus' stance on the intra-Syrian talks in Geneva.
On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to begin withdrawing Russian military groups from Syria.
