MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the withdrawal of the main part of Russian forces from the Syrian Arab Republic, saying that the main task of the armed forces had been completely fulfilled.
"The Russian weaponry has passed the test with the best note possible…All the assignments were carried out and completed brilliantly, and Russia has shown that it can successfully confront any enemy," the Serbian lawmaker stated, commenting on Moscow's recent decision to withdraw its Aerospace Forces from Syria.
After five and a half months from the beginning of the military operation, Russia has come out from the Syrian conflict "totally changed, politically and militarily," Karic stressed.
The Serbian nationals are particularly inspired by the latest Russian military successes, he noted.
The remaining groupings at the Hmeimim air base in Syria's Latakia province and the naval base in the port of Tartus will play a key role in monitoring the cessation of hostilities between Syrian government and rebel forces, the Russian leader outlined.
