Head of the Damascus delegation Bashar Jaafari said that the format of the intra-Syrian talks is "very weak."

GENEVA (Sputnik) — The Syrian government's delegation is ready to discuss the opposition's proposals on the political settlement of the crisis once they work out a joint view, head of the Damascus delegation Bashar Jaafari told Sputnik on Wednesday.

"There is still a big gap and a huge lack concerning the format of the talks. Nobody so far can claim that they can reflect the position of all the oppositions. Two thirds of oppositions are still not in Geneva. We cannot discuss ideas before we get a common position from all the oppositions. Once they have a common position, we will discuss it. But so far, the format is very weak," Jaafari said.
