Donald Trump Wins Republican Primaries in North Carolina, Illinois
US Presidential hopeful Donald Trump is projected to win the primary elections in the US states of North Carolina and Illinois, local media reported.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Boston Globe newspaper reported on Tuesday night that with almost 42 percent of the vote counted in Illinois the Republican frontrunner gained support of 40.2 percent of the vote compared to 27.5 percent for Senator Ted Cruz and 20.8 percent for Ohio governor John Kasich.
The newspaper added that with 64 percent of the vote counted in North Carolina, Trump led with 40.4 percent compared to 36.6 percent for Cruz. Kasich trailed in third place with 12.5 percent.
Earlier in the day, Trump won the primaries in the state of Florida and gained support of 99 delegates from the south state.
