MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday called on the country's parliament to take prompt action to "redefine" laws related to terrorism.
"Parliament must immediately take steps to redefine terrorism laws," Erdogan said, as quoted by the Daily Sabah newspaper.
His calls for action came after Sunday's terrorist attack in Ankara, which left at least 37 people dead and over 120 injured.
According to the Turkish Interior Ministry, female suicide bomber Seher Cagla Demir, who reportedly had been a member of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) since 2013, carried out the attack.
PKK has been fighting for Kurdish independence from Ankara since 1984. Turkey considers PKK to be a terrorist organization.
