WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The release explained that Envoy has been successfully demonstrated on the F-16 Fighting Falcon and F-18 Hornet combat aircraft.
"With Envoy, today's state-of-the-art weapons can be easily and affordably integrated into legacy aircraft worldwide," Raytheon Air Warfare Systems Vice President Mike Jarrett stated in the release.
Raytheon added that work is also underway to integrate the software for use on the MQ-9 Reaper drone used in the air campaign against the Islamic State terror group in Syria and Iraq.
The software will also help older aircraft address the issue of being more visible on radar and therefore vulnerable to long-range anti-aircraft missiles, according to Raytheon.
