WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The disciplinary measures are mostly administrative and the military personnel do not face any criminal charges, the newspaper said on Wednesday citing US defense officials.
On October 3, 2015, a US AC-130 gunship aircraft shot 30mm cannon shells for 30 minutes into an MSF hospital in the Afghan city of Kunduz, killing over 40 medical staff and patients, including children.
Doctors Without Borders called the attack a war crime.
In late November 2015, US forces Commander in Afghanistan Gen. John Campbell told reporters the Kunduz bombing was an avoidable mistake caused by human error.
