BEIJING (Sputnik) — According to Clauss, the two countries are in the process of implementing the strategies "Made in China 2025" and "Industry 4.0," which will generate enormous amounts of data that require reliable protection and bilateral coordination.
"We will witness an exponential increase in industrial data flows. This is why cyber and data security have become such important issues," Clauss said, was quoted as saying by the Caixin news outlet on Thursday.
In March 2015, the Chinese government announced the implementation of the "Made in China 2025" strategy, an initiative to comprehensively upgrade the country's industry through innovative technologies.
The current Chinese strategy follows Germany's "Industry 4.0" initiative, that was adopted in 2013, and aims to fully automate production with federal government support.
