WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — In Syria, nine airstrikes targeted Daesh positions near the towns of al Hawl, Ayn Isa and Mar'a, destroying terrorist fighting positions, an explosive laden vehicle and in one case, suppressing active enemy fire, the release explained.
"The destruction of ISIL [Daesh] targets in Syria and Iraq further limits the group's ability to project terror and conduct operations," the release explained.
In Iraq, airstrikes were carried out in coordination with the Iraqi government, with attacks near the towns of Albu Hayat, Habbaniyah, Hit, Kisik, Qayyarah Sultan Abdallah, and Fallujah, according to the release.
Targets in Iraq included vehicles, a Daesh headquarters complex, tactical units, a tunnel, heavy machine guns and rocket launch sites, the release said.
