Europe's most wanted fugitive has been captured for his responsibility in planning a series of near-simultaneous November 13 terror attacks in Paris, France, in which 130 people were killed. Abdeslam reportedly reconsidered his intent to blow himself up with his suicide belt, fleeing Paris with two accomplices following the attacks. The violent extremist group Daesh claimed responsibility.
In the aftermath, Belgian police have been conducting anti-terror raids, raiding the Molenbeek neighborhood of Brussels, after Abdeslam's fingerprints were found in an apartment.
The video shows the fugitive being detained by security forces after he was injured in leg in a shootout.
Abdeslam is reportedly being treated in a local hospital under high security. Belgium's media reported witness accounts of at least 10 shots and grenades being used, while fire engines waited in the street.
According to Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel, three suspects were arrested in Friday's anti-terrorist raid, including the 26-year-old Abdeslam.
