Moreover, he openly criticized the EU in his recent statement, saying that Turkey deals with the terrorism in a "more human" way than European countries.
"The fight against terrorism in Turkey is much more human than in England, France or the United States. Our methods are much more compatible with the law than their methods," Erdogan said.
In the context of the current refugee crisis, Erdogan mentioned that European countries have no right to criticize Turkish authorities and teach Ankara what to do.
"The Europeans have no right to criticize us. Instead, they should put away inhuman conditions in which refugees are left in Europe," Erdogan said, cited by the newspaper.
On Friday, Brussels and Ankara reached an agreement, according to which all migrants arriving illegally from Turkey to Greece starting from March 20 will be sent back. In exchange, the EU will accept thousands of registered Syrian refugees directly from Turkey.
The EU-Turkey deal will enter into force on Sunday. As part of the deal, the European Union promised to accelerate the allocation of 3 billion euros to Turkey to help it deal with the undocumented migrants. An additional 3 billion euro in assistance to Ankara can be given by 2018.
