A shooter and two employees at a Pennsylvania Turnpike toll booth on a US highway were killed Sunday in an attempted armed robbery and ensuing gunfight with police, local media reported.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The shooting took place at the Fort Littleton Interchange at around 7:30 a.m. local time, the PennLive.com news website said.

Fulton County Coroner Berley Souders said that three people were killed in the shootout, including a toll booth worker and an employee hired by a Turnpike contractor.

The ramp is reported to be closed in both directions while the investigation is underway.
