In an interview with LifeNews Elvira Isayeva said that she had missed the transfer to the airport after partying with her friends the night before.
“I don’t know how it all happened… We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and just overslept, that’s all. When I woke up I got a phone call from Rostov. Someone asked in a trembling voice whether I was alive. I said ‘yes’ and went back to bed. And then, when I woke up, I watched all this news and was terrified,” Elvira said.
She added that she knew many of those killed in the crash.
“I don't know if I'm just lucky, if I have a guardian angel or it's my mother's prayers [which saved me], but I am completely horror-stricken,” she said.
The FlyDubai Boeing-737-800 en route from Dubai to Rostov-on-Don crashed at the city's airport at around 3:40 AM Moscow time (00:40 AM GMT) Saturday after missing the runway amid poor visibility and bad weather conditions. All 62 people on board including 55 passengers and seven crew members died in the accident.
Foreign experts are beginning to arrive in Rostov-on-Don to assist Russian Investigative Committee experts working at the site of the crash.
Meanwhile, the Investigative Committee is considering three main versions of the tragedy: poor weather conditions, technical fault and human error.
