GENEVA (Sputnik) — Syria has been mired in civil war since March 2011, with government forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad fighting numerous opposition factions and extremist groups. Rojava began to gain autonomy in 2013, when the PYD, and its armed wing, Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), asserted control over the region.
“The day after tomorrow we need to submit to de Mistura our detailed updated plan," HNC Deputy Coordinator Yahya Al-Kodmani told reporters. “We asked de Mistura to have a copy of the regime's plan. But we received nothing.”
HNC has received a 30-point paper from UN special envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura on how they see political transition in Syria and are working on their answers, an HNC spokesman added.
"We received four papers from de Mistura. We are now preparing clear answers to de Mistura's 30 questions about the political transition," Salem Al-Meslet told reporters in Geneva.
