MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Sergei Ivanov, the chief of staff of the Russian presidential administration, will visit China on March 24 and 25, the Kremlin press service said Monday.
"On March 24-25, head of the Russian presidential administration S.B.Ivanov will make a visit to the People's Republic of China at the invitation of the head of the General Office of the Communist Party of China Li Zhanshu. The trip will be made in the framework of established cooperation between the administrations of the Russian and Chinese leaders," the press service said in a statement.
"In addition, S.B.Ivanov will speak at the opening ceremony of the II Russian and Chinese Mass Media Forum," the statement notes.
Russia and China aim to increase bilateral trade turnover to $200 billion by 2020, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on a visit in 2014. Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich tempered the forecast earlier this year, citing falling oil prices and changes to trade conditions.
