230 Injured in Brussels Attacks: 130 in Metro Blast and 100 at Airport
BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – The Brussels authorities are planning to reopen 14 out of the city’s 68 metro stations on Wednesday morning after they were shut down due to terrorist attacks, Minister-President of Brussels Rudi Vervoort said Tuesday.

"We aim to restore the [transport] network above the ground. Tomorrow morning… 14 stations out of 68 will be reopened, the rest will depend on the possibility of providing police presence, who will have to ensure security of each station," Vervoort told the RTL television channel.

Earlier on Tuesday, at least 34 people were killed and some 230 injured in two bomb blasts in the Brussels Zaventem airport and an explosion at a metro station in the city.

The Islamic State militant group, which is outlawed in Russia, claimed responsibility for the attacks.
