MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian humanitarian convoys in Syria have come under fire from militants in the past 24 hours, no casualties have been sustained, the Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday.
"During the delivery of humanitarian cargo to settlements of Harasta in the Damascus province and Kafer-Nan in the Hama province, the Russian humanitarian convoys came under fire from militants," the ministry said in a daily bulletin posted on its website.
"None of the personnel of the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation or Syrian representatives taking part in the humanitarian missions, sustained injuries," the bulletin said.
