MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel and his French counterpart Manuel Valls will lay a wreath in tribute to the victims of Tuesday's terrorist attacks in Brussels, local media said Wednesday.
The French and Belgian prime ministers will lay the wreath at the Maelbeek metro station, where one of the attacks took place, The RTBF public broadcaster reported.
The ceremony will take place at around 15:30 p.m. local time (14:30 GMT), the broadcaster added, citing Valls.
Earlier on Wednesday, Valls urged the European Union to strengthen its borders, stressing that Europe had "closed its eyes" on the threat posed by radical Islamists, as quoted by the media outlet.
On Tuesday, at least 31 people were killed and some 260 injured in two bomb blasts in the Brussels Zaventem airport and an explosion at the metro station in central Brussels. The country's security level has been raised to maximum following the attacks.
