Belgian police have arrested a man suspected of involvement in the Brussels bombings, but it's not Najim Laachraoui, Belgian media reports.

Earlier in the day DH reported that a main suspect in the Brussels attacks, Najim Laachraoui, had been arrested on Wednesday in Anderlecht district.

Later the newspaper dismissed this report, and said the information was false.

Najim Laachraoui was apparently seen alongside the suspected suicide bombers at Brussels airport. Laachraoui is believed to be the only suspect remaining on the run following Tuesday's attacks, where brothers Khalid and Brahim el-Bakraoui died carrying out bombings at Brussels airport and Maalbeek Metro station. Local authorities have not yet officially confirmed the information.

Laachraoui, who was born May 18, 1991, is a native of Schaerbeek, a municipality located in the Brussels-Capital Region of Belgium.

On Tuesday, at least 34 people were killed and some 260 injured in two bomb blasts in the Brussels Zaventem airport and an explosion at the metro station in central Brussels. The country's security level has been raised to maximum following the attacks.
