MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Grand Prix Drivers' Association (GPDA), which unites drivers participating in Formula 1 (F1) races, issued a letter on Wednesday urging owners and stakeholders of the races to change their governance to reflect F1 values more properly.
"We would like to request and urge the owners and all stakeholders of Formula 1 to consider restructuring its own governance. The future directions and decisions of F1, be they short or long term, sporting, technical or business orientated should be based on a clear master plan. Such plan should reflect the principles and core values of Formula 1," the letter reads.
It was added in the letter that the GPDA needed to ensure that F1 races would first of all remain a sport and a competition between the drivers.
The letter has been signed by Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel and Alex Wurzon behalf of the drivers participating in the F1 Grand Prix.
