MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On March 19, a FlyDubai Boeing 737-800 plane with 55 passengers and 7 crew members on board crashed while attempting to land at an airport in southern Russia. The plane was flying to Rostov-on-Don from Dubai. Nobody survived the crash, which occurred during conditions of poor visibility.
"The first preliminary payments have been made in regard to the claims of relatives of victims in the amount of 135,000 rubles [nearly $2000]," the statement cited the association's President Igor Yurgens as saying.
On Sunday, FlyDubai said it would provide payments of $20,000 per passenger to families of those killed in the crash, to help address immediate financial needs.
