BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — There are no Russian citizens among those injured in the attacks on the Brussels airport and a metro station, the head of the Russian consulate in Belgium said Wednesday.
"There are no Russian citizens among the wounded and injured, this is precise information. The information concerning the deceased is being clarified as not all of the dead have been identified. But at the moment, the information that some of them may be Russian, has not been confirmed," Counselor Alexander Makarov told RIA Novosti.
On Tuesday, two suicide blasts hit the departures hall of the Brussels Zaventem airport and an explosion shook a subway carriage at the Maelbeek station, close to the EU institutions, killing at least 31 people and injuring 260.
The IS, outlawed in a number of countries, including Russia, claimed responsibility for the attacks.
