According to the DH news outlet, police have been actively looking for Laachraoui in connection with the Paris attacks, after his DNA was found on some of the explosive material used in the November attacks in Paris. The 25-year-old suspect is reportedly still at large.
Two explosions shook the Brussels airport on Tuesday. Another attack took place shortly in the Brussels metro. A total of 31 people were killed and some 250 sustained injuries.
The Daesh jihadist group, outlawed in many countries including the United States and Russia, has claimed responsibility for the attacks. The Daesh has said it was responsible for the November attacks in the French capital, in which 130 people were killed and over 350 injured.
Earlier on Wednesday, Belgian Interior Minister Jan Jambon said that Tuesday's attacks in Brussels were unlikely to be tied to the recent arrest of Salah Abdeslam, suspected of involvement in the Paris attacks.
