Russian Foreign Minister Segrei Lavrov said that Moscow and Washington agree that attempts to undermine the foundation of bilateral relations are counterproductive.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Moscow and Washington agree that attempts to undermine the foundation of bilateral relations are counterproductive, Russian Foreign Minister Segrei Lavrov said Thursday.

"Speaking of international affairs, I think we demonstrated growing understanding of counter-productivity of the trend of destabilization of the foundation of Russian-American relations. The rhetoric of isolation of Russia, as we saw today yet again, has nothing in common with reality," Lavrov said at a press conference with US State Secretary John Kerry.

“From our sides we confirmed that we never shut ourselves off or evaded interaction. We are always ready to cooperate on the basis of equality, on the basis of respect of each other’s interests,” Lavrov said.
