"If factions of the coalition would consider my candidacy for joining the Cabinet, I will be ready to take the responsibility," Groisman stated earlier.
The news about Groisman's candidacy came a few days after Ukrainian Finance Minister Natalia Yaresko announced her willingness to become Prime Minister herself and lead a "government of technocrats".
"Maidan devours its own children, while the country continues to sink deeper into chaos", Contra Magazin wrote. "As a result of the ongoing government crisis in Ukraine, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk once again has to take a punch," the magazine concluded.
Earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk's government survived a no-confidence vote, which provoked various factions to leave the ruling parliamentary coalition. Another vote of no-confidence cannot be held until the next parliamentary session, scheduled to open on September 6.
