MURMANSK/MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Ivan Rudnoy and his colleague were kidnapped on February 23 in a pirate attack on the Bourbon Liberty 251 offshore supply vessel in the Niger delta.
"BOURBON announces that the two crew members abducted on board the Bourbon Liberty 251 off the coast of Nigeria on February 23, have been released and are in good health," the company said in a statement Friday.
The Russian Embassy in Nigeria tweeted late Thursday that Rudnoy, a native of the northern city of Murmansk, had been released.
Bourbon expressed "great relief" at the news, while the embassy said it was grateful to everyone who took part in the sailors’ rescue.
