Prosecutors Charge Man Arrested Friday With Terrorism After Brussels Attack
12:41 GMT 26.03.2016 (Updated: 12:42 GMT 26.03.2016) Faycal Ch, the man detained outside the prosecutor’s office in Brussels following terrorist attacks in the Belgian capital, has been charged with terrorism offenses, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement Saturday.
BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, media reports emerged claiming that the third suspect in the Brussels airport bombing has been identified as Faycal Cheffou.
"Yesterday the court investigator placed Faycal Ch. under arrest. He has been charged with participation in activities of a terrorist group, terrorist killing and attempts of terrorist killing," the statement read.
According to the statement, his house was searched but no weapons or explosives were found.
Two blasts took place in the departure hall of the Brussels Zaventem international airport on Tuesday. Another explosion took place at the Maelbeek metro station near the European Union institutions.
Thirty-one were killed and more than 300 were injured in the attacks. The responsibility for the attacks was claimed by Daesh.
