MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Yonhap news agency, the Fighters for a Free North Korea has scattered some 80,000 leaflets across the border, criticizing the Pyongyang government.
The group is known for launching balloons carrying such leaflets in a bid to spread "dissenting messages."
Tensions on the Korean Peninsula escalated after North Korea successfully carried out a hydrogen bomb test in early January and put a satellite into orbit a month later, violating UN Security Council resolutions and triggering condemnation from the international community.
