American startup Ideal Conceal has designed a pistol that can be folded down to simulate the look of a regular smartphone with camera lens and headphone jack, Popular Mechanics reported.

The smartphone pistol resembles a regular mobile device in size and weight. But, unlike any other phone, it can transform into a firearm due to its patented folding construction. All you need to do is to turn the safety mode off with one click and your weapon is ready to fire.
“The ground breaking Ideal Conceal is a carefully engineered double barrelled.380 caliber people can safely carry in their purse or clipped to their side,' Ideal Conceal’s website reads.
However, the concept of weapons that mimic to the environment looks not very promising to some anti-gun violence activists.
“What's disturbing is that this looks like a real smartphone,' Andrew Patrick, of Coalition to Stop Gun Violence told Daily Mail. “This gun is not only dangerous, but it is also irresponsible.”
Ideal Conceal is expected to hit the market by the mid-2016. A gun is expected to cost $395.
