CAIRO (Sputnik) – A passenger plane dispatched from the Egyptian capital to pick up passengers of a hijacked EgyptAir A320 airliner touched down at Cyprus’ Larnaca airport, Egyptian media reported Tuesday.
The Cypriot Foreign Ministry tweeted minutes earlier that flight MS181 hijacker, identified as Seif Eldin Mustafa, had been detained and was not found carrying any explosives.
The unidentified carrier's aircraft flown from Cairo has landed at Larnaca to pick up the 55 passengers held up during the hijacking, according to Egypt’s Youm7 daily.
