GOA (India) (Sputnik) — Several Middle Eastern countries are interested in acquiring Su-34 fighter-bombers, as Russia’s anti-terror air campaign in Syria has raised the popularity of the jets, a deputy director general of the Russian state arms exporter Rosoboronexport said on Tuesday.

"The Russian Aerospace Forces operation in Syria has increased the interest in Su-34 fighter-bombers… Several Middle Eastern countries are currently showing the most particular interest in them," Sergei Goreslavsky told reporters, speaking at the Defexpo military exhibition in India.

Goreslavsky added that subsequent events in Syria had only confirmed Rosoboronexport’s decision to promote the aircraft for export.
