WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Ten Canadian instructors delivered an intensive training program to the Ukrainian military police in Kiev from February 29 to March 11.
The training, which took place for the third time, was carried out under Operation UNIFIER, designed to enhance Ukraine’s police capability, according to the press release.
"Major challenges remain on the strategic and operational level," the press release stated on Tuesday. "The committee [Joint Commission’s Military Police Subcommittee] is working hard to establish the groundwork for institutionalizing the achievements."
The Canadian Armed Forces said 24 Ukrainians, including those employed in police patrol platoons and special operations forces, took part in the program.
