The 90-minutes feature chronicles a doomed attempt by a group of Afghan refugees to brave the perilous waters of the Indian Ocean in order to reach Australia. The film will apparently be aired on local television networks in Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan and Iraq, in an attempt to convince the would-be migrants to reconsider their options.
The movie was commissioned by Australia’s Department of Immigration which spent about $4.5 million of taxpayer’s money on filming and promoting of this feature.
