MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Moscow could officially respond to the inappropriate actions of Turkish fans during the volleyball match with Russia's Dinamo Krasnodar team, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday.
"At the moment we do not have a confirmation of this situation from other sources, but if such [events] could have happened, though it is very hard to believe in, because such behavior does not pertain to sportsmen, then there is obviously a possibility of an official response," Peskov told reporters.
The information is being verified at the moment, the spokesman added.
Russian-Turkish relations deteriorated following the downing of the Russian Su-24 aircraft by a Turkish F-16 fighter in Syria on November 24, 2015. In response to Ankara's move Moscow imposed a number of restrictive measures on Turkey.
