KIEV (Sputnik) — Ukraine's Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn is due to meet his US counterpart Ernest Moniz on the sidelines of the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, the ministry's press service said in a statement on Wednesday.
"Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn will take part in a trip of Ukraine's official delegation to the United States on March 30 — April 2 to participate in the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington…According to the visit's agenda, a meeting between Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn with US Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz is scheduled," the statement reads.
In June 2015, US Senator John McCain said the United States would be able to supply gas to Ukraine within two years. In February, Moniz told Sputnik that US firms, not the government would determine when to supply gas to Ukraine.
