The Brussels Airport will partially reopen on Sunday after shutting for nearly two weeks in the wake of the March 22 terrorist attack, the airport's press service said on Saturday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The reopening has also been offset by airport police going on strike over alleged insufficient safety measures.

"Date of restart has been set: #brusselsairport will partially resume passenger flights as of Sunday 3 April," the airport's official Twitter feed said.

Brussels Airport Likely to Resume Full Operations by June
Three flights will leave the airport on Sunday, Brussels Airport CEO Arnaud Feist said during a press conference, adding that these will fly to Faro in Portugal, Turin in Italy and Athens in Greece.

On Friday, Feist said that the Brussels Airport was likely to resume full operations by June, stressing that security remains the main concern for the airport.

On Thursday, the airport was given the go ahead by the relevant regulatory bodies to partially restart passenger flights to and from the facility.

Two suicide blasts ripped through the departures hall of Brussels Airport in the northeastern municipality of Zaventem on March 22. A further explosion occurred at the Maelbeek station near the headquarters of the EU institutions. A total of 31 people, including 3 suicide bombers, died in the attacks. More than 300 were injured.
