Crimean wine company Legendy Kryma ["The Legends of Crimea"] presented ten branches of vine stems from its exclusive vineyard to Depardieu, who is a known wine lover.
"This is a certificate for ten branches of vine stems from Crimea, he [Depardieu] has now become a member of our project Be a Wine Maker, which invites Russians to become not only wine consumers, but also wine-makers," Mikhail Shtyrlin, the director of Legendy Kryma, told RIA Novosti.
Depardieu tried several sorts of Crimean wine and said he enjoyed them a lot, adding that Crimean wine has gotten much better than in the past.
Furthermore, during the Friday night wine tasting event, the actor was offered to try a special collection of Crimean Muscat wine, produced in 1948, coincidently the same year when Depardieu was born.
