ASTANA (Sputnik) — The Kazakh president arrived in the Cuban capital of Havana on an official visit to meet with Cuban President Raul Castro on April 2.
"During the meeting, the Kazakh and Cuban leaders discussed the ways of strengthening bilateral relations through the expansion of trade and economic cooperation in the fields of education, culture, sports, agriculture and further policy dialogue," the statesmen said.
According to the press service, the sides also discussed topical issues of the international agenda. The President of Kazakhstan expressed satisfaction with Cuba's endorsement for Kazakhstan's candidacy for non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council members for the years 2017-2018.
