GROZNY (Sputnik) — The acting head of Russia's Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, told Sputnik in an interview that he does not consider Akhmed Chetayev, the leader of a Daesh battalion formed from North Caucasus recruits, to be a viable threat.
"He is not a warrior, there are a lot of talkers like him, but even if the battalion were well organized, he could not command it because he is a coward," Kadyrov said.

In January, Andrei Przhezdomsky, who is an adviser to the chairman of Russia's National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC), said that the battalion's militants were preparing terror attacks in Russia and Europe.
"They are nobodies. They pose no threat, I've never regarded them as warriors," Kadyrov added.
Daesh occupies vast tracts of Iraq and Syria and is outlawed in many countries, including Russia. The jihadists have gained notoriety for conducting suicide bombings and other attacks in many countries around the world.
