MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will inform his Armenian counterpart Hovik Abrahamyan on Tuesday that Moscow is ready to host the planned meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) in light of the recent escalation of tensions in self-propclaimed republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, Medvedev's press secretary Natalya Timakova said.
"Dmitry Medvedev will soon hold a telephone conversation with his Armenian counterpart Hovik Abrahamyan. Medvedev is expected to inform his colleague of Russia's readiness to accept the proposal of Kazakhstan, which is presiding now in the EEU, to hold the EEU meeting in Moscow in light of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh," Timakova said.
"Official visit of the Russian prime minster to Yerevan will take place as planned, on April 7, which will be followed by Medvedev's visit to Azerbaijan," Timakova added.
The EEU comprises Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
