MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian special task units in Pskov are practicing airdrop from Mi-8AMTSh Terminator armored assault helicopters, the head of the District’s press service said Tuesday.
"During the four days, special forces soldiers will be practicing exercises aimed at bringing military units to the highest level of combat readiness, will be loading armament and military equipment onto aircraft and helicopters of the military aviation," Igor Muginov said.
According to him, personnel will practice airdrop from Mi-8AMTSh-V military transport helicopter with parachutes, as well as assault landing from 2-5 meters height.
It is noted that exercises will be held in full gear, both day and night. In total, the personnel is expected to make more than 15 airdrops in a range of heights from 2 to 800 meters.
