30-year-old Italian Mara Bonapersona has appealed to social networks for the help in getting back her precious wedding dress.
The garment, along with other of her belongings, was stolen upon her arrival in Buenos Aires on March 31, as she got into the city from the Ezeiza International Airport.
Mara, who recently moved to Argentine, travelled to Italy for the lace garment, which was her mother’s wedding dress and which she hoped would become her lucky charm.
“My mother was wearing it at her wedding 30 year ago, when she was already pregnant with me, that’s why it is of special importance to me,” she explained to Argentinian news agency Telam.
“Somebody started talking to me in order to intentionally distract my attention and soon I noticed that my backpack disappeared.”
So far dress has not resurfaced in an any of the city's antique shops so Mara has turned to social media to try to get her lucky gown back.
Mara, who is set to marry Argentinian Diego Cerez in December has been working in Italy as a youth risk psychologist. The couple were born on the same very day, the same year and met each other in Panama three years ago.
Mara moved to Argentina in 2015 and says she will stay in Bueno Aires after the wedding.
