BEIJING (Sputnik) — The next China-EU summit, scheduled to be held in Beijing on July 12-13, will focus on security issues, the European External Action Service (EEAS) Director for Asia and the Pacific told Sputnik on Wednesday.
"Peace and security, prosperity, sustainable development that issues will be in agenda. It is a very dynamic relationship. Last year we celebrated 40-years of diplomatic relations between the EU and China. It is partnership considered as very solid and comprehensive. It goes more beyond the trade," Gunnar Wiegand said on the sidelines of the China-EU expert forum in Beijing.
Previous China-EU summit was held in Brussels in June 2015. According to the joint statement issued following the summit, the sides pledged to deepen their partnership, in particular via improving the infrastructure links and boosting economic, monetary and financial cooperation.
