ATHENS (Sputnik) — Greek airports will be closed for civil flights on Thursday because of the Federation of Hellenic Civil Aviation Employees' Unions' (OSYPA) decision to join a strike organized by a public sector union, the OSYPA said in a statement.
On Monday, the Greek Civil Servants' Confederation (ADEDY) published a statement calling for a 24-hour industrial action to be held on April 7 against pension reform and social cuts in the country.

"The OSYPA decided to participate in the 24-hour strike of ADEDY on April 7, 2016 from 00.00 to 23.59," the Federation of Hellenic Civil Aviation Employees' Unions said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
Athens' main lenders, which are the International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank and eurozone nations, signed a deal with Greece in the summer of 2015, approving a third bailout package in exchange for highly unpopular austerity reforms such as pension cuts and tax hikes.
