CAIRO (Sputnik) — A fresh round of proximity talks between the Syrian government and opposition will start on April 11, as originally planned, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov confirmed on Wednesday.
"[Parliamentary] elections will be held in Syria on April 13, and several members of the Syrian delegation will take part in them, so they will be coming [to Geneva] on April 14, but the [proximity] talks will begin on April 11," Bogdanov said.
A source in the Syrian opposition said earlier on Wednesday that a new round of the intra-Syrian talks had been postponed until April 13.
